The 9 tracks that make up "Acoustic Sketches" were written and recorded using a Yamaha 4-track cassette recorder in my basement.

The idea behind this recording process was simple: capture these songs in their most vulnerable and basic manner. The lyrics all take on a similar task: to remove myself from the picture of my surrounding. By never really looking directly at myself and instead looking at the people, places, ideas, and events around me, I actually paint a more vivid self-portrait.

There are some errors on these recordings: a rhythm hiccup, noisy radiator in the background, me coughing, a phone vibrating. But I left them, partially out of laziness, partially for charm, and partially because they are exactly what they are supposed to be: sketches.
